FRANGGY YANEZ / THE ARTIST

Franggy Yanez is a Venezuelan photographer and filmmaker based in Amsterdam. Since moving to the Netherlands in 2010, he has explored his visual identity through photography and film, travelling and working across different parts of the world. In 2015, following his travels through Brazil, he published his documentary photobook Next Door Journal at the Bienal do Livro in Rio de Janeiro.

Twenty days.
Six cities.
A different way of seeing.

In 2015, Franggy left the Netherlands to travel through Brazil. Over twenty days and six cities, he documented the people and places he encountered along the way.

Next Door Journal brings that journey together in a photobook: everyday life, fleeting encounters, and the character of a country seen through a traveller’s lens.

The book was published at the Bienal do Livro in Rio de Janeiro in 2015.
